The experimental building, for the manufacture of which it was necessary to weld over 1,800 individual parts, of which almost 1,000 were armored, will soon be sent to the testing ground for testing under the control of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. To do this, the corps will be fired from the minimum distances from various weapons, zokerma, large-caliber machine gun.
Work on the welding of the hull at the enterprise was carried out as part of the task of expanding the production of Ukrainian armored vehicles. It should be noted that the production volumes of the BTR-3DA, as well as the BTR-4, are still closely connected with the capacities of the only body manufacturer - the private enterprise PJSC Lozova Forging-Mechanical Plant. In addition, the use of NATO steel has made it possible to significantly diversify suppliers of armor and not depend on one supplier.
After successful tests, and with orders from the law enforcement agencies of Ukraine, the Kiev Armored Plant will be able to independently weld corps for the BTR-3DA and other vehicles on this base, which will significantly expand the production of this combat vehicle, which with the onset of Russian aggression has proven its high performance on the battlefield.
The armored personnel carrier BTR-3DA is serially produced at the Kiev Armored Plant, which is part of the Ukroboronprom group of companies. This wheeled vehicle is equipped with a Sturm-M combat module with a 30mm ZTM-1 automatic cannon, has a firing rate of 330 rounds per minute, a machine gun and an automatic grenade launcher. Thanks to the guidance of weapons with the help of a modern digital complex with a laser rangefinder, as well as a gun stabilizer, it is possible to achieve high accuracy and accuracy in all fire modes. In addition, the BTR-3 is equipped with a high-precision anti-tank complex Barrier, which is capable of destroying modern enemy armored vehicles at a distance of up to 5 km.
