The question of replacing the outdated UAZ-3151, UAZ-452, GAZ-66 has matured long ago. And only in 2018, at the expense of funds allocated for the development of weapons and military equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, it was possible to partially upgrade the mobile means of courier communication and postal service (FPS), reports the Public Relations Office of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
A new model of weapons that meets the requirements has been developed and manufactured by the domestic scientific and production association of the Kiev region.
On November 22, 2018, handing over new equipment to divisions, Chief of the Communications Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine - Head of the Main Communications and Information Systems Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Major General Vladimir Rapko said that the first batch of special vehicles was transferred to military units involved in operations of the joint forces, as well as those that carry out the interaction of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with state authorities and other security agencies shoemaker and postal services. The following batches will be distributed in the remaining military units of the FPS. In the future, it is also planned to update the field component of the courier-postal network of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Providing the latest mobile equipment will increase the combat ability of military units, efficiency, reliability and security of the communication system as a whole.
